Taking part in gentle yoga is safe and beneficial for most people. However, you should seek medical advice before trying new sorts of physical activity if the answer is yes to any of the following questions

- Are you over 70 and are not already physically active?
- Has your doctor ever said that you have a heart condition and should only do physical a ctivity when recommended by a doctor?
- Do you feel pain in your chest when you do physical activity?
- In the past month have you had a chest pain when you were not doing physical activity?
- Do you lose balance because of dizziness or do you ever lose consciousness?
- Do you have a bone or joint problem that could be made worse by a change in your physical activity?
- Do you know of any other reason (e.g., recent surgery) why you should not do physical activity?
IF YOU ARE IN ANY DOUBT ABOUT WHETHER A HEALTH CONDITION OR MEDICATION MAKES IT UNSAFE TO TAKE PART IN YOGA, YOU ARE ADVISED TO CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR FIRST
